Six Join Behrend Lions Staff Entering 2009-10 Season
Penn State Behrend, winners of eight of the nine Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Presidents' Cups, released the addition of six new assistants to the Behrend Lions staff.
William Banks and Daniel Mudd will support the men's soccer program as coaches this fall. Banks was a four-year starter at Heidelberg University, while Mudd was an all-league performer at Mercyhurst College.
Julie Koman, a two-time AMCC Player of the Year, will serve both the volleyball and softball programs as an assistant. Koman was a student assistant last season with the volleyball team and holds every significant Behrend softball pitching record.
Julie Marriott will be a first-year assistant to the women's basketball program. Marriott, a four-year starter and two-time WBCA All-American perfomer is a graduate of the University of Rochester.
Phil Stuczynski will work with the cross country and track and field programs. Stuczynski, a three time recipient of the Behrend track program's leadership and scholarship award, will coach both the men's and women's programs.
Ryan Smith, a former Behrend baseball standout, will serve all sports as a sports information assistant. Smith will cover event management, write releases, handle statistics, and work on the web site.
