Josh Fyffe Named to D3.Baseball.com 2010 Preseason All-America Team

Penn State Behrend senior Josh Fyffe (Fredonia/Sharpsville) was named to the D3.Baseball.com 2010 Preseason All-America Honorable Mention Team.
This honor will be added to a resume that is already top notch. He will be a four-year starter at shortstop for the blue and white and has carved out an amazing career. After leading the Behrend Lions to the 2009 AMCC regular season and conference tournament titles, Fyffe was named the 2009 AMCC Player of the Year and First Team shortstop. His numbers dictated it. He hit .406 with a team high 69 hits, 13 doubles, three triples, nine home runs and a new school record for RBIs with 58. Fyffe also swiped 16 bases. He was then selected to the ABCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team for the second straight season and picked as the 2009 ECAC South Region Player of the Year.
"This is a very special honor for Josh and we are proud of him," said Head Coach Paul Benim. "This is a difficult list to make, and his 2009 season was outstanding. If you look at his career, Josh proves he is worthy of the attention."
As a leader on both sides of the ball Fyffe guided the Behrend Lions to the 2008 conference crown and was also named to the All-AMCC squad as a sophomore. During his first season in uniform he was named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year and program's Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year as a freshman.
Fyffe enters his senior senior ranking in the top ten all-time for hits, runs, doubles, home runs, RBI, steals. Behrend opens the 2010 season in Fort Pierce Florida, on March 7.
