Bittner Earns All-Region Honors

Penn State Behrend third baseman Matt Bittner has been named to the 2012 American Baseball Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic All-Region team. Bittner earned all-region accolades for the second straight season, this time earning a spot on the first team.

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend third baseman Matt Bittner (Lancaster, NY/St. Mary's) has been named to the 2012 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Mid-Atlantic All-Region team.  Bittner earned all-region accolades for the second straight season, this time earning a spot on the first team.

Bittner led the Lions in hits (63), RBIs (52), doubles (20), triples (5), home runs (6), and slugging percentage (.681).  The junior was also named to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) First-Team.

Behrend finished the season with a 29-15-1 mark and captured the program's third Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Championship.
