ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend’s Chris Saltzman is named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) men’s basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 6.
Saltzman led all players with 28 points to help the Lions (6-0, 2-0 AMCC) upset reigning conference champion Medaille, 66-62. The senior forward then contributed 12 points, six rebounds and two assists en route to Behrend’s 75-44 victory over Penn State Altoona, Saturday. He finished the past week with a remarkable 20.0 points, six rebounds and two assists per contest.
The 2009-10 AMCC Co-Preseason Player of the Year is off to a great start in his final season with the Behrend front-court. Saltzman currently ranks 10th in scoring average with 14.0 points per game and the Lions are off to their best start in nearly seven years.
Behrend returns to action Wednesday, December 8 against Hilbert in Hamburg, NY at 8 p.m.
