Men's Soccer Blog From Brazil: Reflections From The Dads
The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team took part in an international sports tour of Brazil from May 17-26. The following blog was sent by the fathers of Penn State Behrend men's soccer players who attended the tour and is the sixth in a series of short updates from the team trip to South America.
Sixth Blog Entry: Reflections From The Dads
We traveled many miles and finished on Sugarloaf. We saw mountains, valleys and a winding coast. We bonded as a team, and played a lot of games. We found that the love of soccer in each country is the same.
These days and nights will be remembered, there was so much to do. We celebrated every night, and sometimes broke curfew. Perhaps it was the beauty, those hills so lush and green, boat rides and swimming, and many wonders in between.
We learned about the culture of people far away. We strolled their ancient cities, and watched team Flamengo play. We walked away the days, over hills and sandy beaches. We sampled many local foods and had fantastic feasts.
We learned to make coffee and sugarcane juice so sweet. I know we can all say this experience has been a treat. There is so much to mention, the memories we will always share. Yet in the end we thank the Lord, for the experience that has been beyond comparison.
Thanks Behrend Soccer-
The Dads,
Bill, Cecil, Dave, and Doug.
