Colorado, CO. – The Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team went into double overtime against Colorado College with both teams failing to score the golden goal in non-conference play Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers (2-2-1) won the battle of possession taking 28 shots to the Lions (3-0-2) 12 and also held the advantage in corner kicks, 9-4.
Behrend’s top point earner, forward Jake Gamble couldn’t find the net as he put 3 shots on goal yet came away empty handed. Jerry Tortilla had a shot that was blocked in the 55th minute of the second half that would have won the game for the Lions. Colorado College’s Matt Fechter attempted 6 shots but was held scoreless by a stingy Lion defense.
Chris Bolea in his fifth game in between the pipes, had six saves including a stop on a corner kick 18 minutes into the first half.
The Lions will return to action against Grove City to wrap up their three game road trip Wednesday at 4 p.m.
