The Behrend Lions Handle AMCC Foe Frostburg State in the Junker Pool

The Behrend Lions took on the Frostburg State Bobcats in the Junker Center Pool on Saturday, November 22.  Both the Behrend men and women earned victories as the women finished the bobcats 106 to 89, and the men snagged a 115-105 win.  

The Behrend men were led by sophomore Ben Strunk (Cogan Station/Williamsport) who placed first in the 200 yard IM in 2:17.46, and freshman Steve Zomcik (Kersey/St. Marys) who was a double winner in both the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle.

Krystal Kovach (Scott Twp/Chartiers Valley) won the one meter diving and Katie Van Epps (Pleasantville/Titusville) won a pair of events. Van Epps earned wins in the 50 yard freestyle posting a time of 26.65, and in the 100 yard butterfly in 1:06.90.

The blue and white will then have some time off before they participate in the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational on December 5-7.  The Blue Devil Invitational will be the final meet before the Behrend Lions are off for winter break.  The blue and white will travel to Largo, FL from January 1-9 to take part in winter training.
