Behrend Swimming and Diving Team Members Compete at ECAC Open
Continuing the success of the 2008-09 season five members of the AMCC championship team traveled to Boston, Massachusetts for the ECAC Open. Sophomore diver Krystal Kovach (Scott Township/Chartiers Valley) would be the highlight for the blue and white. Kovach would compete in both the one and three meter diving events at the ECAC Open.
Continuing the success of the 2008-09 season five members of the AMCC championship team traveled to Boston, Massachusetts for the ECAC Open.
Sophomore diver Krystal Kovach (Scott Township/Chartiers Valley) would be the highlight for the blue and white. Kovach would compete in both the one and three meter diving events at the ECAC Open.
Kovach would start the meet off the three meter board with a preliminary score of 198.9 placing her in the top seven divers. In the finals Kovach would up her scoring with a six dive mark of 200.5 earning 12 team points for the blue and white.
After the preliminary round on the one meter board Kovach found herself in eighth place with a score of 185.65. She would come out strong in the finals with a score of 208.25. That mark would give the sophomore a fourth place finish. Kovach would earn a total of 27 points for the Behrend Lions good enough for 19th place.
Kovach now waits on word from the NCAA Diving selection committee to determine if she will compete in the NCAA Championship Meet on March 12-14.
