Hunter Backenstose Named Enterprise Rent-A-Car Athlete of the Week

Hunter Backenstose (Downingtown/Downingtown East) has been named the ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR Athlete of the Week for the week of December 7, 2009.

Backenstose turned in a great performance at the Fredonia State Invitational over the weekend which concluded in a victory for the men's side.  Backenstose teamed up in three relays which resulted in victories as well as ECAC first cut times in the 200, 400, and 800 freestyle relays.  He also teamed up to win the 400 medley relay.  The 400 and 800 freestyle relays were Penn State Behrend records as well. 

Backenstose was dominant on the individual side as well.  He won the 50 freestyle as well as the 100 free and 200 free.  Backenstose led the blue and white to a first place finish out of 10 teams with a total score of 836.

The Behrend Lions will take to the road for their next swimming action when they travel to their winter training site in Largo, Florida.  December 31 through January 9 will be the dates of winter training for the Behrend Lions.
