Mason Dixon Championships Day 1 Results
The Penn State Behrend men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Mason Dixon Championships on Saturday afternoon.
GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Mason Dixon Championships on Saturday afternoon.
On the women's side, Katie Monoskey (Punxsutawney,
PA/Punxsutawney) got the Lions out to a good start. Monoskey
placed second in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.68m.
Katie Patterson (Erie, PA/Villa Maria) ran well in the 10000m
run. Patterson crossed the line at 41:05.50 for sixth
place.
Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) had a record breaking day for the
men. Lydon ran the 10000m run in 32:19.03 for first
place. Lydon's time set a new school record and was an ECAC
qualifying time.
In the field events, Conor MacMannis (Fredericksburg, VA/Kubeszki)
continued to excel in the high jump. MacMannis cleared 1.98m
for third place. Geoffrey Faltot (Mercer, PA/Mercer) took
fourth in the long jump at 6.51m. John Cerminara
(Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown) competed in the hammer throw for
Behrend. Cerminara took fifth place with a distance of
38.29m.
Day two of the Mason Dixon Championship will conclude
tomorrow.
