Behrend Lions Men's Cross Country Take Down Top AMCC Honors
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country squad dominated the 2009 AMCC postseason all-conference team. The Behrend Lions earned eight of the 15 slots on this year's AMCC All-Conference team.
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country squad dominated the 2009 AMCC postseason all-conference team. The Behrend Lions earned eight of the 15 slots on this year's AMCC All-Conference team.
Senior Kevin Gorny (Erie, PA/McDowell) was named as the Runner of the Year. This marked Gorny's fourth consecutive season being named to the all-league team and third time he earned Runner of the Year honors (2007 and 2006). Behrend Lions freshman Alex Myers (Oakmont, PA/Riverview) was selected as the AMCC Newcomer of the Year, and Head Coach Greg Cooper earned his third nod as the the AMCC Coach of the Year.
Senior Andy Iams (Harrison City/Penn Trafford) joined Gorny as a four time member of the all-conference squad. Senior Rob Shrawder (New Wilmington, PA/West Middlesex) made the squad for the second consecutive season. Senior Justin DiPenti (Russell, PA/Warren) earned the accolades for the first time along with junior Steve Monnie (Renfrew, PA/Butler). Also earning AMCC honors were Alex Myers, Josh Ferrell (Sharpsville, PA/Sharpsville), Karl Kallgren (Erie, PA/McDowell). Kallgren was dubbed all-conference in 2008 also.
The Behrend Lions men's team captured the AMCC Championship for the second consecutive season and fourth time overall.
