Greg Cooper begins his sixth season as the men's and women's track and field head coach after completing his fifth year as head coach of the cross country teams. In three of his five years, he has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year.  Last season, he lead the men's cross country team to their fifth overall conference championship. The Lions dominated the post-season honors, taking seven of the 17 all-conference spots. Behrend also nabbed AMCC Newcomer of the Year.

After two straight championships, Cooper led the Lions to a third straight title in 2009.  He was named the AMCC Coach of the Year while helping eight runners earn first-team accolades, including the AMCC Runner of the Year and the AMCC Newcomer of the Year.

In 2008, Cooper guided the men's cross country team to an AMCC championship while the women's team placed third. Behrend had five men and three women earn all-conference.

In 2007, his first season as head cross country coach, Cooper was named AMCC Coach of the Year for both men's and women's teams.  For the first time ever, both the men's and women's squads captured the AMCC Championships in the same season.

Cooper previously served under his father, Dave Cooper, as assistant coach of the track and field team for five years and the cross country team for two years.

Cooper was a cross country and track standout at Union City High School where he was a PIAA champion in track & field (4 x 800 meter relay) and captain of Union City's 1996 PIAA State Champion cross country team.  Cooper continued his success at Behrend, where he set records in the 400 and 800 meters as well as in three relays.

Cooper graduated from the Behrend MBA program in May of 2006. In addition to coaching he also instructs in the health and physical education department. As of January 1, 2012, Cooper will be the Cross Country Division III Mid-East Region Women's Representative.
