STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Glennis Robash scored a goal and the Penn State Behrend’s women’s soccer team took advantage of an own goal to defeat Franciscan 2-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday.
The score did not reflect the 18-8 edge in shots held by the Lions (7-5, 3-0 AMCC), but Behrend remains undefeated in conference play with their third AMCC win. Alayna Steele collected the shut-out victory, making four saves.
In just the 15th minute, Robash netted her team-leading sixth goal for the quick 1-0 lead. The Lions got the insurance goal at the 61:10 mark.
For Franciscan, Lauren Koath had four saves in the net while Amanda Looman and Megan Scanlon each had two shots.
Behrend returns to action on Tuesday against Pitt-Bradford. Game time is 1 p.m.
