Johnston Named the ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR Athlete of the Week

Penn State Behrend junior Carissa Johnsoton(Cambridge Springs/Cambridge Springs has been named the ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR athlete of the week for the week of October 27, 2008.

Johnston an outside hitter has helped lead the Behrend Lions to two AMCC sweeps over Medaille and Mt. Aloysius.  The sweeps came as the blue and white have solidified themselves as the top team in the conference standings.  In the two games Johnston swung a .444 hitting percentage with nine kills on 18 swings, tallying only one error.  Defensively Johnston tallied 3 blocks, digs and assists for the week.

The blue and white can clinch the regular season title and a number one seed for the playoffs with a win over Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday night.  The Behrend Lions remain undefeated in league play as they prepare for the Pitt-Bradford Panthers.  The game will be televised on Image Sports Network beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008.  The blue and white will close out the regular season with a road trip to take on Penn State Altoona on Saturday.
