The Penn State Behrend volleyball team fought a tough battle but came up short in their ECAC first round match against St. Vincent on Wednesday, November 11 on the Junker Center floor. The Penn State Behrend volleyball team (23-9) advanced in the ECAC South Tournament with a 3-2 win over the Washington & Jefferson Presidents (17-15) on Wednesday, November 12 at the Junker Center. The blue and white took the first set 25-19 behind the big swings of Lauren Dalton (Cochranton/Cochranton). Dalton would go five for five on swings in the first set, finding the floor on each attempt.

What are your thoughts on your team at this point in your fall season? We are 14-6 overall right now and 4-0 in the AMCC, which is right around where I expected us to be at this point. We have had some really outstanding performances so far and also a few matches that we'd like to forget. The biggest storyline to our season thus far has been how many injuries we've had to deal with. We haven't had one day since preseason where we've had all our players healthy and most of the time we've had at least two potential starters missing. It's been tough to deal with but I think the players have handled it well. Who is performing particularly well for the team right now?

After a 0-3 loss to Fredonia State the Behrend women's volleyball team has been on a tear in AMCC play beating the next two AMCC opponents 3-0 each. Behrend Lions Volleyball Goes 1-1 in Behrend Invitational
The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team opened its tournament on the Junker Center court with a convincing 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-20) win over the D'Youville Spartans. Junior middle hitter Sheila Ogden (Grove City/Grove City) had nine kills, while Danielle Woods (Pittsburgh/Baldwin) had seven kills and nine digs. Also, junior setter Brooke Gallentine (Mt. Pleasant/Southmoreland) dished out 26 assists.

Penn State Behrend Lions Set To Host Behrend Volleyball Invitational
The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team is set to host the Behrend Invitational this Friday and Saturday, September 5 and 6. Traveling to Behrend to compete in the Junker Center will be Division III teams Fredonia and D'Youville as well as the NAIA teams from Notre Dame College and Daemen. The blue and white (3-1) open the tournament at 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon versus D'Youville.

Behrend Volleyball 2008 Season Preview
The 2008 Behrend Lions volleyball team returns five starters from last year's squad and looks to blend that experience with a talented freshman class for a title run this season. After three straight seasons of competing in the AMCC Championship match, the 2007 Behrend team bowed out in the conference semifinals. The blue and white earned a share of the AMCC regular season title with an 8-1 record during conference play and finished at 18-12 overall. Head coach Phil Pisano returns for his fifth season in charge of the Behrend Lions program.

The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team (18-5-2) won the 2009 ECAC South Tournament Championship 2-0 over Wesley on Sunday, November 15, at Gannon University.
Brian Streeter Named to CWPA Board of Directors
Penn State Behrend Director of Athletics Brian Streeter, George Washington University men's and women's head coach Scott Reed, and California State University-Maritime Academy Director of Athletics Marvin Christopher were elected to the Collegiate Water Polo Association Board of Directors by the league membership at the organization's 2009 Annual Meeting on June 1.
Behrend Earns Eighth Presidents' Cup in Nine Years
The Penn State Behrend Lions have claimed the 2008-09 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Presidents' Cup for the eighth time in its nine year history.
