Behrend Men Earn Split While Women Sweep
Penn State Behrend Men and Women battled both the Baldwin-Wallace Yellow Jackets and the St. Vincent Bearcats in a tri-meet held at the Junker Center Pool on Saturday, November 7. The men's squad defeated the St. Vincent by a score of 168-51 but fell to the Yellow Jackets 117-122. The women were victorious in both meets as they defeated St. Vincent by a score of 114-104 and Baldwin-Wallace 143-71.

On the women's side, junior Katie VanEpps (Pleasantville/Titusville) won the 200 yard individual medley with a final time of 2:25.61. VanEpps also went on to win the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:32.43. Also, Leslie Nichols (Corry/Corry) was victorious in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:17.28. Danielle Wilson also took home the 500 yard freestyle.
For the men, the 100 yard freestyle went to freshman Hunter
Backenstose (Downingtown/Downingtown East) with a time of
49.74. Dane Dombrosky (Mt.Pleasant/Mt.Pleasant) and Brian
Saylor (Easton/Easton Area) each took home the 500 yard freestyle
and the 200 yard breaststroke, respectively.
The Behrend Lions will be on the road for the next several days as
they first travel to Allegheny on Saturday, November 14. The
blue and white will then take on conference foe Frostburg State on
Saturday, November 21. Behrend finished second at the
Pitt-Bradford relays and defeated both Bethany and Buffalo State
this season.
