DeSantis Named ECAC South, AMCC Pitcher of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend baseball player Dante DeSantis (DuBois, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) pitcher of the week and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) co-pitcher of the week, announced on Tuesday.

The senior was spectacular in the Lions 6-0 victory over Westminster on March 14, hurling a complete-game shutout, striking out eight. DeSantis allowed just two hits and did not walk a batter.

Thus far in 2014, the senior has thrown a team-high 16.1 innings, sporting a 2.20 ERA with an astonishing 9-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Behrend will travel to Waynesburg for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 22 at 1 and 4 p.m.
