Herzing Selected to D3Baseball.com All-Region Team

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend pitcher Jack Herzing (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Catholic) has been named to the 2018 D3baseball.com All-Mideast Region Team.

Herzing is earning his second All-Region honors after being selected to the ABCA Third-Team his sophomore season. The right-handed starting hurler was named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) first team for the first time in his career after leading the league in strikeouts (109), innings pitched (69.1) and complete games (6). Herzing made 11 appearances on the hill and allowed 24 earned runs for a 3.12 average.

The senior averaged 14.15 strikeouts per nine innings to rank third in Division III statistics. Herzing threw a no-hitter and struck out 16 of the 21 batters he faced to set a new school record for career strikeouts with 296 K's.
