Bolla, Louis Claim Weekly Conference Honors
Penn State Behrend baseball sophomore Colin Bolla (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and men’s tennis freshman Graham Louis (Erie, PA/Fairview) were selected Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher and Player of the Week in their respective sports for the period running from April 14-20.
ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend baseball sophomore Colin Bolla (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and men's tennis freshman Graham Louis (Erie, PA/Fairview) were selected Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher and Player of the Week in their respective sports for the period running from April 14-20.
Bolla helped secure a 9-0 game one win over Altoona, tossing the first complete game shutout of the season for Behrend. The second year starting pitcher only allowed three hits and two walks to go along with eight strikeouts in the complete game effort to earn his fifth victory of the year on the mound. Bolla also recorded his 100th career strikeout on Saturday.
Louis was a double winner vs. Nazareth in non-conference action on Tuesday. After dropping the first set, 4-6, he won the next 6-4 and battled back from being down 5-1 in the third set, winning six games in a row for the 7-5 win.
The baseball team will play five of its six games on the road this week, while the men's tennis team competes as the second seed at the AMCC Tournament on April 26-27.
