NABC Honors Men's Basketball Team For Academic Excellence
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the Penn State Behrend men's basketball team as recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award along with five players named to the NABC Honors Court for outstanding achievement in the classroom.
ERIE, Pa. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the Penn State Behrend men's basketball team as recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award along with five players named to the NABC Honors Court for outstanding achievement in the classroom.
The Lions received the team award for carrying a GPA of 3.0 or higher and five student-athletes with a GPA of 3.2 or higher earned the individual accolades. Seniors Isaac DeGregorio (Allison Park, PA/North Catholic), Tommy DiRienzo (Pittsburgh, PA/Bethel Park), Matthew McDonough (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny), and juniors Mason Blankenberg (Ontario, NY/Wayne) and Michael Sopko (New Castle, PA/Neshannock) were honored. Each represent the Behrend Lions as Honors Court selections, helping Behrend to be one of over 400 programs deserving of the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.
