Men's Basketball Relies on Defense to Defeat Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team picked up a non-conference in over Allegheny on the road on Tuesday night, defeating the Gators 58-41 on the road.

Noteworthy:

* Behrend held the Gators to just 41 points, 21 in the first half and 20 in the second
* The Lions were also dominant on the boards, holding a 39-25 advantage
* Behrend had a six-point lead heading into the break thanks to Nate Edward's 13 points in the first 15 minutes and Jacob Dunkle adding eight
* In the second half, the Lions never relinquished the lead and went ahead by double-digits on a layup by Edwards with 11:14 left to play
* Edwards finished with a career-high 19 points
* Dunkle tallied his second straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds
* Mason Blankenberg shot s 80 percent  from the floor to contribute 11 point
* Behrend had the lead 93.6 percent of the time
