ERIE, Pa.- The Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team played John Carroll tough to two overtime periods, only to lose 4-3 in non-conference play Tuesday.
Starting the game off, forward Josh Teti netted a ball from Jake Gamble to put the Lions (4-1-3) ahead 1-nil. Just seconds later at the 5:45 mark, Blue Streak’s Jeff Kosek making a spinning kick, tallied to knot the game up going into halftime. Kosek would go on to score two more goals. His second goal would come by a 30 yard boot past the Behrend defense and just off the figure tips of goalie Chris Bolea. The hat-trick was completed thanks to a pass made by Nathan Sharbaugh with 26:04 left to play.
The Lions needing a score, dialed up a charge which paid off in the final 20 minutes. Two scores, a pass by Corey Hamilton to Aaron Meehl lead to the first with 20:42 to go and a Gamble header off a well played ball from Jack Leslie evened the count 3-all in the 92rd minute of regulation.
The Lions would fall to the Blue Streaks 4-3 in 2OT off a well hit ball from Wyclieffe Odhiambo, 45 seconds into the final period.
