Men's Soccer Blog: Day Two in Spain

Day 2 started off with a trip to the beach with the whole team. The walk was around an hour or so and along the way we saw many beautiful buildings and many interesting natives. On a quick side note the architecture in Spain is stunning. Now back to our day... we arrived at the beach and got some awesome food on the boardwalk at a very nice eatery. After we finished our  and food we went to relax on the beach and just enjoyed life. The beach was beautiful and the water was clear, but it was a bit on the chilly side. Outside of the water we played frisbee and Europe watched.  We left the beach and made the trek back to the hotel. On the way back we went into many little side shops and checked out their inventory. A couple of guys bought some really interesting stuff! It was an awesome part of the day for us! 

After arriving back to our hotel, the team got their gear ready for the first game of the trip. It was about an hour bus ride into the town of Teressa. The ride along the way to the stadium was very interesting. The soccer culture really stood out. Everywhere you looked there were young children with soccer balls and jerseys along the streets. Once the bus arrived we got our first look at the stadium. It was very professional. It was a turf field fully enclosed by an older stadium. The team got settled into the locker room followed by a quick warm up. The competition was Teressa FC. The first half went underway and the other team possessed the ball well.  The Lions were down 3-0 at half. The second half for Behrend went better with more possession. The Behrend crew came back to tie the game but eventually fell 6-4. Tomorrow brings a transfer to Valencia and another match.
