Lions Goalkeeper Wassell Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week

Jarrod Wassell was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team to a 3-0 shutout victory over Allegheny on Friday night.

ERIE, Pa. – Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollildaysburg) was named Allegheny Mountian Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Allegheny on Friday night.

This is the second time this season Wassell has been given this honor, helping the Lions to a 5-2-1 start in 2013.

In Friday night's win, Wassell made three saves for Behrend. Overall this season, he has a 1.09 goals against average, and three shutouts to his credit.
