Lions Slip Past Gators 4-3

ERIE, Pa. – Nick Stewart (Pittsburgh, PA/Keystone Oaks) scores on a header with 1:31 left in regulation to lead the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team to a 4-3 win over Allegheny Friday night.

Christian Harrington (Warren, PA/Warren Area) netted two goals for the Lions (5-1-1) tonight including the first and third. His opening goal was his second goal of the season and came just two minutes into the game.

Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) tallied the assist as he dribbled through the Gator's (1-4-1) defense to give himself enough space to cross the ball to Harrington who was left with an easy tap into an open net.

Harrington returned the favor 18 minutes later when he sent a long ball through to Crivelli who once again danced around the last defender and placed a shot to the low left corner, out of Jake Pugliese's reach in net. Crivelli's goal gave Behrend a 2-0 lead going into the half.

The second half was full of offense as Allegheny scored the next three goals of the game. The Gators swung the game's momentum when they got on the board with an own goal from the Lions at the 51:47 mark. Izaak Miller followed with a goal of his own five minutes later. Allegheny then took a 3-2 lead when Aaron Donahue found the back of the net in the 62^nd minute.

Behrend quickly answered when Matt Dziadosz (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area) was taken down in the box by a Gator defender. Harrington made the ensuing penalty kick to tie the game at three with just under 20 minutes left.

Similar to Tuesday night's win, more late game heroics came with 1:31 remaining. Dzaidosz sent in a cross that Stewart headed over the goalie to give Behrend the lead for good and clinch their fifth victory of the season.

Behrend is back in action next Wednesday with a 4 p.m. kickoff when they travel to St. Vincent.
