Mastovich, Blanchard Named ECAC All-Stars
Penn State Behrend men’s soccer senior Andrew Mastovich and junior Richard Blanchard were named to the 2019 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III All-Star Team.
ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's soccer senior Andrew Mastovich (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) and junior Richard Blanchard (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) were named to the 2019 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III All-Star Team.
The accolades keep pouring in for the men's soccer program with Mastovich and Blanchard being selected to the first team. Mastovich has been named to the ECAC All-Star Team for the second year in a row. The defender was selected to the second team in 2018. Mastovich recently earned First Team All-Region and All-AMCC. He was voted AMCC Defensive Player of the Year for helping the Lions allow 18 goals in 21 games and post 10 shutouts this season.
Blanchard is receiving his first All-ECAC honor after being named to the All-Region team for the first time in his career. He was an All-AMCC first-team choice for registering 39 points on the season. Blanchard scored a team-best 13 goals and an AMCC-best 13 assists. He has scored five game-winning goals, including both in the AMCC Tournament. Blanchard netted the game winner in the AMCC Championship off a penalty kick in the 76th minute.
