Behrend Men's Soccer Outlasts Franciscan

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team scored a goal in each half to defeat Franciscan 2-1 in non-conference action on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* The Lions tallied goals less than six minutes apart but in different halves
* Bryce Large got his second goal of the season off a pass from Adam Thompson in the middle
* Large gathered the ball with space and buried a shot past Aiden Miller
* Five minutes into the second half, the Lions got awarded a direct kick
* Owen Peterson drew the foul and Reilly Nickles took the kick that found its way into the top right corner for a 2-0 lead
* Nickles now leads the team with three goals
* Franciscan mimicked Behrend and took advantage of a free kick outside the box to get on the scoreboard
* Santiago Bracho sent a low ball into the back that made its way through the middle an to an attacking Anthony Lipnicky for the sliding goal
* Anthony Scalise kept the Barons off the board in the first half on a pair of attempts that required diving saves 
* Scalise finished with four saves on seven total shots
