SUNYAC Champions! Men's Swimming and Diving Claims 18th Conference Title
The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team claimed its 18th overall conference title and first-ever SUNYAC Championships at the Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College on Saturday night.
BUFFALO, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team claimed its 18th overall conference title and first-ever SUNYAC Championships at the Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College on Saturday night.
Noteworthy:
* Isaac Stoeckle was named the Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet
* Head coach Jen Wallace and her assistant coaches were named the Swimming Coaching Staff of the Meet
* SUNYAC All-Conference first, second and third teams consists of the top three finishers in each event
Key Moments:
* Behrend won the championships by 117 points over reigning champion Cortland
* The Lions closed out the final day with four first-place finishes and one new team record
* Will Perham became a four-time champion in the 200 breaststroke, winning in 2:04.51
* Glenn Fowkes and Anthony Tumino repeated as champions in the 200 backstroke and 100 freestyle, respectively
* Fowkes posted a winning time of 1:51.62 and Stoeckle finished in third (1:53.35)
* Tumino touched first in 45.85 and Zachary Turner was in fourth (47.36)
* Tumino, Turner, Stoeckle and Nicolin Pierce were the winning 400 free relay that set a new team record of 3:05.71 for first place
