Lydon Leads Lions at Washington and Jefferson Invitational
The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team competed at the Washington and Jefferson Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team competed at the Washington and Jefferson Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) led the Lions with a first place finish in the 10000m run. Lydon set a new school record and a new meet record with a time of 33:00.79 for first place.
Conor MacMannis (Fredericksburg, VA/Kubeszki) also had a top finish for Behrend. MacMannis won the high jump with a height of 1.95m.
In the 800m run, Billy Cvecko (Erie, PA/McDowell) placed fifth with a time of 1:58.11. He also took ninth in the 1500m run, crossing the line at 4:09.30.
Cody Bupp (Warren, PA/Warren) took fifth in the 110m hurdles. Bupp ran the event in 16.25.
In the field events, three athletes had great performances. Garrett Shaw (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) took fifth in the pole vault with a height of 4.30m. Geoffrey Faltot (Mercer, PA/Mercer) placed second in the long jump at 6.54m. Dylan Beck (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) rounded out the trio with a sixth place finish in the triple jump. Beck cleared a distance of 12.51m.
Behrend will be back in action on Saturday at the Carnegia Mellon Invitational.
