Qualk, Motter and Cotton Set for Nationals
The Penn State Behrend men’s track & field team has three athletes representing the Lions at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 21-23 at the Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

* Lee Qualk, Charlie Motter and Alex Cotton qualified and will make their first appearance at the outdoor national championships
* Qualk is ranked fifth in Division III in the long jump, while Charlie Motter is 21st in the javelin
* Qualk broke the school record in the long jump this season on April 4 at the Slippery Rock Invitational with a distance of 24-3.75
* Motter was named the AARTFC Champion in the javelin throwing a personal-best 61.26m to win gold
* Cotton, currently ranked 24th in the shot put, made the final cut due to a medical forfeit in the field
* Cotton had a season-best throw of 16.67m at the Akron Last Chance meet
* Qualk will compete at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and Motter will throw at 11 a.m. on Saturday
* Cotton is set to throw the shot put on Friday at 3 p.m.
* The top 22 student-athletes in each individual event were accepted to the NCAA Championships
* The top-eight finishers in each event will earn All-American honors
