Vazquez Earns UVC Rookie of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's volleyball freshman outside hitter Antonio Vazquez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/UHS) has been named the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Rookie of the Week.

Vazquez led Penn State Behrend to a 3-0 week with 22 kills, six digs, five aces and four blocks. He began the week with 10 kills and a .391 hitting percentage against Thiel on Tuesday nights. He then put down 10 kills on 16 attempts against SUNYIT and completed the week with a .667 clip against Cazenovia. 

Behrend returns to action on Saturday at the UVC Tournament hosted by Nazareth. The No. 7 Lions will face No. 2 New Paltz in the quarterfinals at 1pm.
