Olimski Named MPSF Newcomer of the Week

ERIE, Pa. - Matt Olimski (San Diego, CA/Otay Ranch HS) has been named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Newcomer of the Week, announced Monday.

Freshman goalie Olimski posted double-digit saves in all three games at the DIII Collegiate Championships this weekend, including 16 saves apiece against MIT and Connecticut College.

He anchored the Lions' defense by recording 14 saves in a 16-10 win over Monmouth. Olimski added four assists and four steals in the three road games. The 46-save weekend gives him 136 on the season, averaging an MPSF-high 13.43 per game. This is Olimski's first career MPSF honor.

Behrend is back in action when they matchup against Iona on Friday. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
