Klein Named AMCC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year; Seven Earn All-Conference
Sophomore Kody Klein was named the 2022 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Runner of the Year while head coach Greg Cooper earned Coach of the Year honors, announced on Friday.
ERIE, Pa. – Sophomore Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) was named the 2022 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Runner of the Year while head coach Greg Cooper earned Coach of the Year honors, announced on Friday.
Noteworthy:
* This is the program's seventh overall Runner of the Year award and first since 2016
* Klein was the individual medalist at the AMCC Championship with a time of 27:10.2
* He also had a personal-best time of 26:44.9 at the Inter-Regional Rumble this season
* Cooper is earning his 11th Coach of the Year accolades for leading Behrend to its 15th overall championship and third in a row
* Joining Klein on the All-Conference Team were six teammates
* Nick Temel (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Area) and Aidan Domencic (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) were third and fourth overall at the AMCC Championships to earn a spot on the All-AMCC Team
* Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) took fifth, while Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East) and Joey George (Leechburg, PA/Kiski) placed seventh and eighth, respectively to be named to the All-AMCC squad
* Christopher Annear (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) rounds out the Top 10 for the meet and the All-Conference Team
* Klein, Temel, Domencic, Kerr, George and Annear are repeat runners on the All-AMCC list
