Vaughan Named Newcomer of the Year; Cooper Earns Coach of the Year
Freshman Ethan Vaughan was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men’s Newcomer the Year and earned a spot on the All-Conference Team, while head coach Greg Cooper was voted Coach of the Year.
ERIE, Pa. – Freshman Ethan Vaughan was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men's Newcomer the Year and earned a spot on the All-Conference Team, while head coach Greg Cooper was voted Coach of the Year.
Noteworthy:
* Vaughan is the 17th Behrend runner to earn Newcomer of the Year honors
* Vaughan was the top freshman finisher at the AMCC Championships, placing third with a time of 28:21.5
* Cooper notched his 14th Coach of the Year award for leading the Lions to their sixth title in a row and 17th overall championship
* The Top 10 runners from this past Saturday were selected to All-Conference Team
* Joining Vaughan on the All-Conference Team Peyton Brewer, Nathan Bertolo, Aidan Reinsel, Alex Haskins, Lucas Boys and Michael Werner
* Reinsel is a four-time selection and this is the third appearance for Boyd and Brewer
* Behrend's top seven runners will compete at NCAA Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, NY
