Behrend Softball Announces 2026 Team Awards

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball program announced the team awards for the 2026 season.
Abby Tingley was named Most Valuable Player, while Hannah Smith was tabbed Most Improved Player. Rookie of the Year went to Alyssa Tingley and Alexia Brown earned the Leadership Award.
Abby Tingley, senior pitcher, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher of the Year and to the All-AMCC First Team. She went undefeated at 8-0 in conference play while earning one save in six complete games. Tingley finished with 85 strikeouts in 26 appearances and 15 complete games for a 2.95 ERA. This season, she reached 300 career strikeouts and moved into second place on the all-time list for career strikeouts.
Smith, a sophomore outfielder, played in 40 games and registered 34 hits and 28 RBIs. She tied for fourth on the team with seven doubles and was second with three home runs. Smith also ripped a pair of triples and scored 28 runs. She had nine multiple-hit games, including three hits on three occasions.
Alyssa Tingley, a freshman pitcher, threw 34.2 innings in 15 appearances this season. She posted a team-low 2.22 ERA and was undefeated with a 3-0 record. Tingley also posted two saves and struck out seven.
Brown, senior catcher and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President, was named to the All-AMCC First Team this season. She ranked third on the team with a .351 batting average and 39 hits. She drove in 23 runs while scoring 34, while smacking seven doubles and recording a team-leading 27 walks.
