AMCC CHAMPIONS! Women's Basketball Captures Fourth Overall Title

ERIE, Pa. – The No. 1 Penn State Behrend women's basketball team captured their fourth overall Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship with a 78-61 decision over No. 3 Penn State Altoona on Saturday afternoon.

Noteworthy:

* Morgan Altavilla and Alaina Fabin were named to the All-Tournament Team
* This is the second AMCC title under head coach Christine VanHook
* The Lions earn the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament

 Key Moments:

* Fabin had a career day, knocking down a career-high 32 points and career-best 16 rebounds
* Fabin scored over a third of the team's points on 14-for-21 shooting for her ninth double-double, becoming first to register a 30+ point game this season
* Behrend set the tone out the gate with a 19-4 start to force Altoona to take its second time out of the quarter at the 4:22 mark
* The Lions kept the double-digit lead heading into the second quarter at 25-13
* Behrend registered 10 three pointers, hitting five in each half
* Fabin had 19 points just two minutes into the third quarter, making three straight baskets including a three-pointers for a 43-28 lead
* As a team, Behrend had eight blocks with five coming from Julia Balaski (career high)
* Balaski added seven rebounds, six assists and five steals
* Madilyn Boyer, Altavilla and Lilly Palladino had double-digit points
* Boyer added 15, Palladino with 14 and Altavilla with 13
