Lions Crown Four, Secure Runner-Up at AMCC Wrestling Championships
The Penn State Behrend wrestling team placed runner up at the 2026 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships held at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Saturday.
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team placed runner up at the 2026 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships held at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Saturday.
Team Results: Penn Tech. (152), Penn State Behrend (150), Alfred State (129), Pitt-Bradford (62), Penn State Altoona (11)
Key Moments:
* The Lions claim their second straight runner up finish at the championships, falling by 1.5 points to the reigning champions Penn Tech.
* Behrend had four individual champions, three second-place finishers, one third-place honoree and one in fourth
* The Lions placed in all but one weight class and had seven wrestlers in the finals
* Evan Whiteside (125), Amarfio Reynolds Jr. (133), Rudy Brown (149) and Steffan Lynch (157) were crowned AMCC Champions
* After receiving a bye to start, Whiteside pinned Jordan Bubsy in 2:02 in the semifinals before convincingly defeating Mason Drew of Alfred State 17-1 for his first AMCC title
* Reynolds followed the same path as Whiteside, beginning with a bye
* Reynolds advanced on a 7-0 win and then never trailed in the finals, winning 5-1 over Blake Dergham of Penn Tech.
* R. Brown is a repeat champion for Behrend, but at a different weight class
* Brown, the 2025 AMCC Newcomer of the Year, posted a technical fall in the semifinals (18-3) before winning the title with a 9-7 decision over TJ Martin of Penn Tech.
* The final title went to Lynch at 157
* Lynch went 3-0 on the day, starting with an 18-0 technical fall and then advancing with a 10-6 decision
* In the finals, Lynch managed a 30-18 major decision against Brett Patton of Penn Tech.
* At 165, Mason Savitz had a pair of tech. falls, but had to medical forfeit the finals for second place
* Louie DeJulia (184) also went 2-1 on the day for second place and Abe Keep (197) registered a 7-0 win to advance to the finals before falling to Nicholas Woodruff for second
* Zach Dellinger earned third place at 125, while Matt Caldwell pinned Colton Hal for third place at 285
* Cole Neil rounded out the place winners for the Lions, taking fourth with a 1-2 record

* The Lions will compete at the NCAA Regionals on Friday and Saturday, February 27-28.
