Wyckoff Headlines AMCC All-Conference Team
The Penn State Behrend women’s swimming and diving team had eight student athletes honored with 32 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) accolades, while senior Jessica Wyckoff was named AMCC Swimmer of the Year and Marcella Puglia was chosen AMCC Newcomer of the Year.
ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team had eight student athletes honored with 32 All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) accolades, while senior Jessica Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois) was named AMCC Swimmer of the Year and Marcella Puglia (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) was chosen AMCC Newcomer of the Year.
Wyckoff was named AMCC Swimmer of the Year for the first time in her career. She was a three-time individual winner and four-time relay winner this past weekend at the AMCC Championships. She set the Meet, AMCC and Team record in 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.66. Wyckoff also set a pool record in the 400 medley relay, and a Meet and AMCC record in the 400 freestyle relay.
The Lions grabbed 28 first-team honors and four second team.
Puglia won every event she swam in at the conference championships. She was a member of the pool record-setting 400 medley relay. Puglia also set a new AMCC Meet and Open record with a winning time of 18:26.62 in the 1650 freestyle, before helping the 400 freestyle relay set three new records; the team, AMCC Meet and Open in 3:40.29.
