Trio of Lions Snag AMCC Weekly Swimming and Diving Awards
Three members of the Penn State Behrend swimming and diving team earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
ERIE, Pa. – Three members of the Penn State Behrend swimming and diving team earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
Freshman Camryn Watters (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) was named Women's Swimmer of the Week, winning three events in a win over Pitt-Bradford on Saturday. She won the 50 free (26.35) before leading a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 backstroke (2:15.99), while swimming on the winning 400 medley relay.
Freshman Lauren Stephens (Fairview, PA/Fairview) notched her fourth straight selection as Women's Diver of the Week when she was victorious in both diving events this weekend. She won the one-meter board with a score of 193.65 and followed that with a first-place finish on the three-meter board (208.55).
Sophomore diver Jacob Earley (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) registered Men's Diver of the Week with two wins against the Panthers. He started the meet with a score of 179.40 to win the one-meter diving, before claiming victory on the three-meter board (208.0).
The swimming and diving teams are back in action at Fredonia on Saturday, Nov. 18.
