Lions Break Relay Record at ECAC Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field 4x800 team set a new school record with a time of 9:42.82 at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Outdoor Championships on Friday.
Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Victoria Harwood (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven), Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren) and Jamie Szramowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) were 12 seconds better than their seeded time for the program record and 11th place overall.
Spade and Harwood also competed individually on the day. Spade run 2:19.65 for 22nd in the 800m and Harwood tied for 24th in the 400m with a time of 59.72.
In the discus, April McDermott finished in 10th place with a throw of 122-08.
