Lions Set to Compete at RIT Invite Saturday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's indoor track & field program is set to compete at the RIT Invite in Rochester, NY on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

* The Lions are back for the New Year after starting the season on December 13
* Behrend competed at the Houghton December Classic most recently
* Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) and Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) finished first and second, respectively in the mile, qualifying for the AARTFC meet
* Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Shelton beat the 300m school record with Loeffler running a time of 42.49
* Shelton, Loeffler, and Suraihyah Sule (Snellville, GA/Shiloh) took second, third, and fourth respectively in the women's 300m run
* Freshman Myeisha Sanders (Erie, PA/East) tallied a fifth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 13.14
