Women's Volleyball Heads to RIT Saturday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team returns to action this weekend with three matches, beginning on Friday night at Alfred State and then at RIT on Saturday.

* The Lions head into the weekend with a 4-5 record
* Last time out, Behrend dropped a five-set match to Fredonia on Tuesday night
* The Lions won the first two sets and had match point in the third
* Madison Clapper (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) leads the AMCC with 188 digs. She tallied a career-high 44 against the Blue Devils
* Behrend will open conference matches on September 22 at Medaille against Franciscan and Penn State Altoona

* Alfred State is 3-2 on the young season, recently posting a 3-0 win over Hilbert on Saturday

* The Highlanders are currently 1-7 on the season
* Houghton's lone win was a 3-0 decision over Hilbert
* Last time out, Pitt-Bradford defeated the Highlanders 3-1 (25-20, 18-25, 25-23, 25-15) on Wednesday. Ally Bittinger posted her first career triple-double with 17 assists, 14 kills and 10 digs in four sets

* The Tigers have won the last four matches to put them at 6-2 this season
* RIT capped its 4-0 weekend by defeating Plymouth State and Elmira at the Ganite State Challenge hosted by Rivier
* The Tigers are averaging 11.5 kills per set led by Katie Holber with 2.90 kills per set
