ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend women's water polo goalie Kara Stegmann (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) earned Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Stegmann helped the team to a 1-1 record last week on a two-game road trip in California. In a 19-4 victory over Caltech last Tuesday, she allowed just two goals and made 14 saves. The next day at La Verne Stegmann posted six saves and also scored a goal.

The Lions will return to action tomorrow at Monmouth for the CWPA Regionals. On Friday Behrend plays Carthage at 11:40 a.m. and Connecticut College at 3:40 p.m.
