Women's Water Polo Earns ACWPC and CWPA All-Academic Award
The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announced the academic awards for the women's water polo Spring 2025 season. The Penn State Behrend Lions had seven players receive accolades along with the team earning the All-Academic award.
ERIE, Pa. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announced the academic awards for the women's water polo Spring 2025 season. The Penn State Behrend Lions had seven players receive accolades along with the team earning the All-Academic award.
Nic Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) and Lauren True (Denton, TX/Guyer) were ranked in the outstanding category for posting a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.71 or above. Darragh Martin (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen), Calla Williams (Longwood, FL/Lyman) and Baileigh Marino (Erie, PA/Girard) were ranked in the superior level for finishing with a GPA between 3.41 and 3.7.
Makenzie Rickerd (Rockford, MI/Rockford) and Monica Villasenor (San Gabriel, CA/Pasadena) were selected in the excellent category for achieving a 3.2 to a 3.4 GPA.
As a team, the Lions had the fifth best GPA boasting a 3.18 for the semester among Division III ACWPC squads and were in the Top 16 for the CWPA.
