Carr Earns AMCC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year; Hartle Newcomer of the Year
Senior Savanna Carr was named the 2022 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Runner of the Year for the fourth time in her career, headlining the All-AMCC Team announced on Friday morning.
ERIE, Pa. – Senior Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) was named the 2022 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Runner of the Year for the fourth time in her career, headlining the All-AMCC Team announced on Friday morning.
Noteworthy:
* Freshman Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) garnered the Newcomer of the Year, while Greg Cooper was named Coach of the Year
* Carr is the fourth straight Behrend Runner of the Year
* The senior earned this honor in 2017, 2019, 2020 and now 2022
* Carr is the program's 14th overall Runner of the Year
* Cooper was voted Coach of the Year for the 11th time in his career on the women's side
* Carr was the AMCC Individual Champion a week ago with a winning time of 24:06.4
* Hartle was the highest-placing newcomer at the AMCC Championship meet, finishing third overall
* Carr and Hartle were two of seven runners named to the All-AMCC Team
* The 2022 runner-up and 2021 AMCC Runner of the Year, Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), earned All-Conference
* Emily Micciche (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth), Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds), Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Megan Swantner (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch)
* Micciche was sixth, Litwiler was seventh, Laffan was eighth and Swantner finished 10th at the AMCC Championships
* Carr, Nola and Swantner are repeat All-Conference runners
