Ando, Heinl Selected AMCC Athletes of the Week
Senior pitcher Julie Heinl and sophomore tennis player Taimi Ando have been chosen the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
ERIE, Pa. - Senior pitcher Julie Heinl (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) and sophomore tennis player Taimi Ando (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) have been chosen the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.
Heinl was named Softball Pitcher of the Week for recording a win and a save this weekend at La Roche. She went the distance in game one, striking out five and only alllowing one run on four hits for the victory. Heinl then got the save in game two, pitching two innings.
Ando earned Men's Tennis Player of the Week for leading the Lions over Pitt-Bradford in conference action. He had a pair of wins, sweeping his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and then recording an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles.
