More Honors for Bittner

2012 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-American Team

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend third baseman Matt Bittner (Lancaster, NY/St. Mary’s) has been named to the 2012 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-American Second-Team. 

Bittner was also awarded the ABCA/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year.

The junior had a monster year while leading the Lions to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region championship.  Bittner led Behrend in hits (63), RBIs (52), doubles (20), triples (5), home runs (6), and slugging percentage (.681).  He eclipsed 100 career hits and RBIs this season as well.

Bittner also earned All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) first team accolades.
