Jacobs Named AMCC Pitcher of the Week
Penn State Behrend baseball player Ryan Jacobs has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced on Monday.
ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend baseball player Ryan Jacobs (Port Vue, PA/South Allegheny) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher of the Week, announced on Monday.
Jacobs made history on Sunday in the Lions’ 1-0 win over Mount Aloysius. The senior hurler took the mound in game one and dominated from start to finish. Jacobs became the first player in program history to throw a perfect game, sitting down all 21 batters he faced. He struck out six hitters in seven innings while throwing less than 70 pitches. Jacobs leads the team with a 5-0 record and is second in strikeouts (36) and earned run average (1.51).
Behrend will be back in action tomorrow to host D’Youville in an AMCC doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
