Behrend Places Two on the AMCC All-Conference Team

The Penn State Behrend men's golf team placed two golfers on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate All-Conference team.  Junior Joe Nelson (Warren/Warren) was named to the first team.  Nelson who was the top medalist at the AMCC Championships led the blue and white to a second place finish.  This is the second time that Nelson has received All-Conference honors.  He was a second team selection a year ago.

Joining Nelson on the All-Conference team was freshman Kevin Koerbel (Gibsonia/Deer Lakes).  Koerbel was the low scorer at the Penn State Behrend Invitational shooting a 75 to help the Behrend Lions to a fifth place finish.  Koerbel was named as a second team All-Conference member.

Adding to the awards was Penn State Behrend men's golf coach James Bowen.  Bowen was named the coach of the year after his second consecutive runner-up finish in the AMCC championships.  The Behrend Lions took first place in two tournaments this year, winning both the Pitt-Bradford and La Roache Invitational.  The blue and white finished the year with five top five finishes and two championships.
