Wassell Named AMCC Player of the Week
Sophomore goalkeeper Jarrod Wassell has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday.
ERIE, Pa. - Sophomore goalkeeper Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday.
Wassell has been excellent between the pipes for the Lions this season. In two Behrend victories last week, he allowed just one goal in 180:00 minutes and made eight saves. Wassell has earned seven straight victories since an opening day loss to Centre. He has only allowed one goal in the Lions' last five games.
Wassell currently stands second in the AMCC with a .74 GAA, second in shut-outs (2), and third in save percentage (.824). This marks the second time this year he has been named Defensive Player of the Week.
Behrend will be back in action on Wednesday at D'Youville. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
